What happens after I complete the class?

After the course is completed, the student needs to take the permit test and get a permit from the DMV. Once the student has the permit, the behind-the-wheel program can begin.

How long does it take to complete the class?

The class consists of 30 one-hour lessons, and students can complete up to two lessons per day. The course can be completed in as few as 15 days but should be completed within 90 days of beginning the first lesson. If the student doesn't complete the course within that time frame, the course can be extended to 30 days for $15.

What is your refund policy?

There are no refunds.

Are your instructors licensed?

Yes, each of our instructors is licensed by the state of Wisconsin to teach classroom and behind-the-wheel training to all age groups.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?

If you fail to show up for a lesson or do not cancel or reschedule on our website at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a $50 late cancellation fee. You will not be able to schedule another drive time until this is paid.

State Requirements for Teens

What is the state process?

First, the driver education class must be completed. Then, students can get their permit, begin practicing with their parents, and take driving lessons at the driving school. Learn more.

When can I schedule my road test?

The DMV online scheduler goes out 11 weeks. Students do not have to have all of the driving lessons completed in order to schedule a road test. However, all lessons must be completed before taking the road test.

How old do I need to be to start driver ed?

You should be at least 14 1/2 when you begin the online course. Students can get their permit at 15.

How much practice driving do I need to do with my parents?

Wisconsin requires 50 hours of practice driving time with parents and other approved adults. Of these, 10 hours must occur at night. Drive times do not count toward this total.

Driving Lessons

How fast can I complete behind-the-wheel lessons?

This depends on your scheduling flexibility and instructor availability. You can take one 2-hour behind-the-wheel lesson each day and you can drive up to two times in one week. We recommend that you spread your drive times out during the time you have your permit. The first lesson is supposed to take place within 60 days of getting the permit. We also recommend saving the last drive time for a time within a couple of weeks of the Road Test so the information is fresh.

Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?

No, you are covered under our commercial insurance during all behind-the-wheel training.

Can I use my own car?

No, our vehicles have safety features (passenger brake, passenger mirror, student driver signs, etc.) that don't come in standard cars.

Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?

We offer home pick-up and drop-off in and around River Falls. If you live in the country or another town, we will need to meet you at one of our designated meeting spots.

How do I schedule a behind-the-wheel lesson?

Log in to your student account on our website. Choose an available time and your preferred instructor.

When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?

You can start driving lessons anytime if you have a valid learner permit or driver's license. You can schedule driving lessons on our website once you have registered and paid in full. If you are under 18, you must complete the driver ed class before starting behind-the-wheel lessons. The first lesson is supposed to take place within 60 days of obtaining the permit.

What safety equipment are your cars equipped with?

Our cars are inspected at the DMV and approved for driver education. Our cars have an instructor's brake and "Student Driver" signs on the front and back.
