Developed by Safe Roads Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to promoting safer driving through education for drivers of all ages, The Parent’s Supervised Driving Program is designed to improve teen driver safety by providing parents and guardians with a methodical approach to teaching the requisite driving skills. Each lesson concentrates on a particular sequential skill. Parents are in the best position to help their teens to become safe, smart, and skilled drivers.

Parents must certify that their student has obtained a minimum of 50 hours of supervised driving, with at least 10 hours at night. This form is provided for your convenience to keep track of driving time and experience. Each hour of supervised driving experience while accompanied by a qualified instructor may be considered as 2 hours of driving experience, with a maximum of 5 instructor-supervised hours able to be counted in this manner.

Parents should discuss with their teens the dangers associated with speeding. Drivers must slow down and understand they are responsible for the safety of anyone in their vehicle. Passengers need to “speak up” when they feel uncomfortable at any time in a vehicle.
